KTM – The Nepali Congress has protested against the decision to donate a building and 37 ropani of land to the proposed Kathmandu Institute of Child Health. The protest comes from 11 ward chairmen in Pokhara metropolis.

Condemning the decision of the metropolis executive to donate the building and land in ward no. 27, the ward chairs have demanded that the decision be withdrawn. Issuing a statement on behalf of the ward chairs, party whip Ram Raj Lamichhane has said that the decision has drawn serious attention of the party.

The statement also notes that chairperson of ward no. 27 and executive member Purna Kumar Gurung had registered dissent over the proposal tabled by the mayor Man Bahadur GC. The party has called for endorsement of the people of the ward before the decision is taken.
