KTM – The Human Rights and Peace Society (HUPRES) today staged demonstration today, demanding formation of a high-level fair committee to investigate into the Soti incident of Rukum (West) and taking punitive actions against the guilty.

The participants of the demonstration staged by the Society’s Kathmandu chapter condemned the killing of five, missing of one and attack on others in the incident, drawing the government’s attention towards taking steps so as not to let such incident reoccur in the future.

In his address to a corner meeting after the demonstration, Society central chairperson Uttam Pudasaini said the organisation had been working for social justice assimilating Dalits’ right as the human rights.

Society advisor Homkant Chaulagain and Kathmandu chapter president Jagannath Pudasaini called for stopping any attempt to promote impunity.RSS
