    COVID-19 awareness: greet with namaskar to avoid infection

    KTM – All 10 local levels of Tanahun district have laid emphasis on public awareness campaigns to ward off possible outbreak of COVID-19.

    Local levels here have called on the general public to remain alerts on certain activities such as handshake, participation in crowd and walking/sitting together so as to avoid the infection.



    The recently-held sixth municipal assembly of Shuklagandaki municipality called on the public to keep high alerts with patience to avoid the virus epidemic, shared mayor Kisan Gurung.



    He also urged the municipal denizens to frequently wash hands with soap and water and mask their nose and mouth during cough and sneeze. The mayor also called on the public to consult nearby health facility if symptoms such as fever, throat pain and complication in breathing were surfaced.

    Likewise, Devghat rural municipality, where the popular religious site Devghatdham is located, also urged its dwellers to adopt awareness measures to save off virus outbreak, informed chief administrative officer Ramesh Subedi.

    The rural municipality also called on the public not to organize and participate in procession, festivals, fair and gathering within the rural municipality territory.

    Byas municipality has conducted ‘greet with namaskar campaign’ to get protected from the virus threat. Byas mayor Baikuntha Neupane shared the campaign has been put in place as there is always high risk of virus getting transferred while shaking hands.

    The municipality has also requested its people to avoid crowd, use masks during cough and sneezing and wash hands with soap and water.

    Similarly, other local levels, including Myagde, Anbukhaireni, Rishing, Bandipur, Dhiring rural municipality, Bhimad and Bhanu municipality also have conducted public awareness creating programme against possible outbreak of coronavirus.

    Keeping precautionary measures is the best alternative to avoid possible outbreak of coronavirus, said in-charge of Damauli hospital, Dr Sunil Poudel.

    “One can get protected from coronavirus while paying attention on personal sanitation and behaviours”, he added.RSS
